I donate plasma here in my area and the first 3 times my heart rate was normal but the last 2 times it was high. The 1st time it was high it was 107 then it was 114, it can't be over 100. If it's over 100 then you can't donate. I really need the extra cash cause I've had a string of bad luck the last 2 months. Can someone please tell me ways to lower my heart beat so I can donate. I don't smoke or drink or do drugs. I don't have any health conditions and I've not took any medicine for anything either. I get a good night's rest and all I do is clean the house up and take care of my 2 yr old. Can someone please help me??? Please! Also about 2-3 weeks ago I broke my toe could that cause the sudden heart jump?

Stress can cause an elevation in heart rate, Don't do any physical activity before going in to donate, don't rush around doing house work, that might help. I'm not sure if you are trying to donate to close together. I loss in blood can also cause an increase in pulse.

pain will cause your heart to beat faster, so if your broken toe is still very painful, that might be one cause. More likely, you are dehydrated. When a person is dry, their heart rate will become elevated. so, try drinking at least 10 glasses ( 8 oz. ) of water or fruit juice for the a few days before donating. hope that helps
