Those traditional incandescent light bulbs are still good, but waste electricity. Its seems a shame to waste them, and I don't want to encourage other people to keep on using them by giving them away.

A less wasteful use however is to heat a reptilian cage. If you know anyone who owns a pet snake, turtle, lizard, etc give it to them because then the heat energy given off actually gets used. (You do use more electricity but waste less of the energy.)
