As a chubby person, i have often felt that way when going out...but i have learned it's the guys problem..u know , not yours..leave this current guy alone, for your self-esteem.
My man now INSIST we go out everywhere! it's nice actually & has given me so much more confidence.
Are there things about u that he SHOULD be embarresed about?? then change them.One thing is don't go out the house w/ ugly sweats etc...look cute when u go out. Take pride in yourself. Wear a cute jogging outfit. Nice blouse and jeans. Check out the Victoria Secret catalog to get an idea what guys like!

I'd find a new boyfriend.
Being embarassed around you shows a blatant lack of respect for you and your feelings, and it's a sign that you've got an insensitive clod as your boyfriend. There are tons of guys out there - some of us are worth dating. Sounds like yours needs to grow up a little more.
Maybe once he's lost you, he'll realize it's not so bad to be seen in public with you.

If he's emberessed to be by or w/ you then i would dumped him because he's not worth it if he don't want to be seen w/ you! You're too good 4 him ne way!
