For one, don't push your daughter to lose weight. You're just going to give her serious self-esteem issues. For two, if she's 165 of muscle it's not a bad thing. Muscle weighs more than fat. If SHE wants to lose some weight however, get her doing cardio workouts (dancing, walking, running, swimming, etc). Cardio is the best way to lose weight. Watch what she eats too. Limit her junk food intake. Also, remember that it takes time. Just because she's walking 3km per day doesn;t mean you'll be able to notice a difference in a week. - give it a month or two.

Well to be on the safe side I would recommend seeing a doctor first to make sure a diet and exercise are ok. You need a physical to check and make sure there are no medical issues first. Then ask the doctor to send you to a nutritionist and have them explain carbs, fats, sugars, etc.and how they work and the right amount of them you need to consume. Sometimes just changing the portions of what you are eating can make all the difference. See I am diabetic, and this is what the doctor did for me I weigh quite a bit more than your daughter does but I have lost 16lbs with out trying by just changing my eating habits. Hope this helps.

Make sure shes eating a good diet. Lots of green vegetables like brocolli and spinach, foods like that. Feed her lean meats like fish, chicken and turkey. No Soda! She should drink mostly water, with a few glasses of milk for protein. Make sure she is getting a good balance of all the macronutrients.

Cut soda and other sugary drinks -- that can cut a lot of calories very quickly.
Model and promote a healthy, active lifestyle with good food choices and active life. That's the best way to encourage her to live well.

It's simple...eat healthy, and do so in moderation. Just maintain a healthy diet and keep snacks and unhealthy foods to a moderate level. But remember, if she slips up or can't eat healthy foods 24/7, that's ok...do everything in moderation, even moderation!

I would say eat healthy as a family and do some activities together as a family. My family likes to play tennis and golf and ride bikes together.
