It will be included in your gross income on your W-2. But if it's spousal support and not child support, you'll be able to deduct it from your income before figuring your taxes. You don't have to itemize to do this, but you do have to file a 1040 and not 1040-EZ or 1040A. On the 1040, enter the total amount paid on line 31a, and the recipient's social security number on line 31b.

If it's child support, then no, you can't deduct it.

If it is alimony, you can write that off of both your federal and Pennsylvania income before calculating your taxes. You will need to know the total amount and your ex-spouce's SSN. If it is child support, then no.
