Impossible to get an accurate number, there are protestants in some countries that are underground and uncountable. Churches are not required to report their memberships to any single source...and, who identifies as a protestant vs. Catholic is similarly difficult to sort out (are Catholics who have left left the holy roman see (Greek Orthodox for example) protestants? No... so... you see... this is an impossible question to answer.
