Is it still bulimia or anorexia if you only throw-up every once in a while and you don't not eat the entire day, you just skip meals? Just wondering. This has nothing to do with me, its for a project for health class, so no negative comments please.

You can have both at the same time. I did....for 12 years.

Anorexia is a condition that has nothing to do with food, once you think about it. Not eating is just a symptom of it. It's pretty much poor self-image regarding weight. Anorexics think they're fat and choose not to eat, and some live with a mortal fear of food.

Bulimia is when you purge through vomiting or laxatives. It's not as effective at losing weight, but after a while, bulimics find the feeling of purging satisfying or relaxing. Either way, it's unhealthy. Your cheeks might even look chubbier from swollen salivary glands and your protective tooth layer might erode due to constant exposure to stomach acids.

Either way, it's not a pretty sight.

Hope this helps,

Bulimia is thorwing up pretty much everytime after you eat. Its for people who cant resist the urge to eat. Anerexia is not eating at all and eat something small like a cracker every week.

If you are not physically sick and you are making yourself throw-up you should ask yourself "Why". Making yourself throw-up after you eat is something you should seek help from your doctor. I can honestly say that I have never MADE myself sick in my 30+ years (I am not fat either). So if you are or know someone who is. GET THEM HELP!!!
