Are helicopters attacking you????

Why ever would you need to do that and not know how?

Any modern air defence system would do the job, things like the RBS70 and Rapier will both have no trouble destroying any helicopter. In the Falklands the RN shot one down with a Sea Dart, which was particularly unfortunate since it was a British Army helicopter. The USAF shot a couple of SH60s down with AMRAAM... which was also rather unfortunate since they were also their own helicopters.

Any modern shoulder launched SAM should do the trick on anything except the toughest military helicopter and will do the job on most of those. Stinger, SA-16 or Starstreak should do the job out to at least a couple of miles and up to 10,000 feet (4 and 15k for Starstreak).

Alternatively an AAA system like the Gepard or the unarmored twin 35mm Oerlikon KDA canons it uses.

Any modern CIWS like Goalkeeper or Phalanx, the US system is the better known and is easier to integrate into a ship, but the Dutch system has greater range and kill probability and vastly improved tracking (18 targets instead of 1) and fire control.

During the Falklands War the Royal Marines shot down an Argentinian Puma helicopter using GPMGs and FN FALs. Nothing new in that though, the Vietnamese killed many helicopters with AK47s.

A single lucky shot could kill an engine or a gearbox. Any heavy machinegun like an Browning M2 will make a helicopter into so much metal trash.

Helicopters are rather fragile.

Assuming you are talking about an ARMED helicopter, i.e. a gunship, and you are in the military, the best way is with an man-portable anti-aircraft missile such as the American Stinger, or the Soviet Strela. Preferably, let it fly past you, then shoot at its rear end.

If you don't have SAM, then it becomes somewhat more difficult, as gunships usually have a lot more firepower than you including rockets and gatling guns.

If you have a sniper rifle, and a nice secure position, you can try going after the weak parts, such as the windshield, hopefully get the pilot or the gunner (though most gunships are heavily armored) or try to shoot a bullet into the exhaust and hope it reach the turbines, but modern choppers have bent exhaust paths that makes such shots nearly impossible.

A somewhat better bet would be using an RPG or single-shot anti-tank rocket launcher, and go after the tail rotor, but if the helicopter is constantly moving and strafing and evading getting a hit will be very difficult. You may just want to hide and look for better opportunities.

The vulnerable points of any helo are its engine area around the main rotor, The cockpit area and the tail rotor. Also the belly of the helo is thin aluminum and any bullet will go right through and hit someone inside or hit the bottom of the engine. while gun fire is the usual way to take out helos shoulder fired weapons like SA-7 or the stinger or very good helo killers. They also if close enough can be brought down by RPG's.

Aim at either of the two rotating blades. The big one keeps the helicopter up in the air and the small one keeps it from spinning around in the opposite direction from the main rotor.
Aiming at the pilot would also work.

You could mount a small donkey and joust with the helicopter with your lance.

Call it a sissy and tell it to meet you on the playground behind the monkey bars after school. If this doesn't work, then it doesn't' want to fight you.

Lure it into a tight space and blow up exploding barells underneath it. You can usually tell they will explode because they are red or have some sort of danger message written on them.
