The British Army actively recruits homosexuals at gay pride parades and rights marches. The US Army, however, makes any sort of homosexual activity a UCMJ punishable offense. It is also current army policy not to ask about homosexual activity. So officially, homosexuals can join, but they are not allowed to be involved in any homosexual activity including the disclosure of the fact they are homosexuals.

The military doesn't care so long as you don't make a big issue of it.
As for me, I'll salute any man willing to put his posterior on the line for love of his country. What he does with his posterior on his own time is his business.

They can, but they won't be admitted if they expose their sexual orientation. The "don't ask, don't tell' policy introduced by clinton requires recruiters not to ask about sexual orientation, however if a recruit acknowlwedges his homosexuality, he won't be admitted.

If you do enlist in the army, they have a strict don't ask, don't tell, don't harrass policy, if you break it, you could be separated from service.
