I use to be real shy also. I found it best to communicate through writing. Over time you will be more comfortable to be more open. I now chose when I need to be open, bold, assertive and yes at times shy.
Sorry I know this may not have helped, but I suggest reading self-help books. This shyness will pass. When you find someone special and they feel the same about you there is no need to be shy with them. For the most part I am no longer shy, but certain things I am but am working on it each day.

u just need to change ur mentality so that u can see the Positive things instead of the Negatives. remember, working on ur confidence is WORTH IT. u will open so many opportunities into ur life just because of a difference in ur mentality :)
the more u work on urself, the better u will feel. *trust me*.
so having said that, work on:
1) your appearance: work out. exercise. take care of ur body. take care of ur skin. get new haircut. try on new clothes. buy Flattering, stylish clothes, make u feel good and look good.
2) your mind: study. read more. learn more about current events. find a hobby, and excel at it. the more u KNOW, the easier it will be for you to develop your own ways of thinking, as well as be able to TALK w/ others about it.
3) your relationships: as u build ur confidence in urself, and keep in mind to be Open Minded, Non Judgemental to others..... u will be able to speak out more, talk to ur friends, family members, practice talking about anything and everything u are learning, or find out what they are interested in. the more u practice, the easier it will be for u to do that with Strangers, or friends of friends, and not feel as shy...because remember, 1 & 2, u are already working on ur appearance and your brain, so u don't have as much to be "scared" about.
:) good luck...the more Positive attitude u have (remember, u can Always change something if u make a mistake, u can learn from it, u can always grow, and do something different tomorrow), the more opportunity u will have in ur life. confidence will lead to easier job interviews, class discussions, making friends, getting to know teachers, etc etc.... huge impact on ur life. but getting over ur shyness is the first step, and working on ur confidence will help u become less shy.

Well you've been dating for 2 years so that's a good sign. Well one thing to do is ignore your shyness, and listen to your heart. And believe it, know EXACTLY how you feel. Just throw away all of you thoughts of negativity. And think of will happen after, not before, you do it. talk about one of his interests, or try to read his body language. Believe me, even if it doesn't turn out as you want it to, which happened to me like 15 times, you'll come out feeling great, triumphant, and knowing that you had the courage to do something that your heart told you to do. remember you can't hit the ball if your thinking of all the ways you can miss.

I think it's a personality trait that's hard to "get over". In our society, being outgoing and talkative is considered a good thing and being shy is considered bad. I'm really shy/ introverted and I tried really hard not to be when I was younger. But now that Im older Ive realized that's it's who I am and it's ok to be a quiet shy person. Just be who you are...and write lots of letters to let your boyfriend know how you feel.

young love...lol
well he's probably wondering the same thing.
lol
once in a while just look in his eyes and smile.
as your looking at him think about him, all the good things about him, that will help u smile.
hug him at times...
me and my girlfriend...well me and her aren't shy and I've been with her for almost two months.
but we're young too...very young...and well when i call her even before we start talking we flirt a little bit...like saying Hello?? more than once and then saying hi in a different way...just flirt with him more and then you'll feel more comfortable, or go to the movies!!!
that's where everything starts...all the action...maybe a little kiss from here to there...in the movies make sure u sit at the top...lol
it helps, Good Luck to You and Your Man!!

1.Stop thinking, try to go with the flow more.
2.always keep a conversation moving, don't let it lag or slow down or drop. Always watch for thoes pitfalls and say something.
3.Get more information to talk about. At the very least the local news, something to say if needed.
4.Talk about things other then yourself.
5.Simply make up stuff 'about' yourself, then you don't have to worry about people getting to know you.

Do something together than talk about it. Find a common interest and talk about it. When you're fumbling for topics, it makes one nervous. When you plan and think it out ahead, its a lot better. Maybe you could im eachother while being together. Dorky, yet a good start.
