I am thinking about buying a 2005 vibe with around 30,000 miles on it. I would like honest answers whether they are good or bad . I have had some pretty bad cars recently and would like to get a good one for once. Thanks for your help!

the Vibe is a Toyota Matrix, with a Pontiac nameplate on it. Since Toyotas are reliable cars, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it for the right price. As with all used cars, I strongly suggest you take it to your mechanic and have him give the car a thorough inspection though, just to be sure. I charge a small fee ($20) for a used vehicle inspection and do quite a few of them a week for my customers. Ask him to check the usual things (engine, transmission, etc) as well as looking to see if there has been any paint or body work to the car. I've found major damage to some newer cars and advised my customers to be wary of what they buy. I'd rather have my customers satisfied with their vehicles and make sure they paid a reasonable price for the car then have to see it in the shop every week for repair. All in all, the Vibe is decent, as is the Matrix.

I like the Vibe and I would probably buy one when I change cars, so I have been researching facts about it in the internet.
It is recommended by consumer guide, and in my personal opinion its design is cooler than the Matrix. You can even get a 6 speed manual in it or AWD in it, WOW.
30k is a bit too many miles for a 05, but do a carfax and have it checked by a mechanic you know, and it would be probably ok. You can negotiate a bit, due to the mileage to get a lower price.
I like the idea of having a big rear door and being able to put a lot of things inside and great mileage.
Cool car.
