I would go to the er and let them numb and lance the ingrown hair which is now a boil. Because she has had heart problems she will need an antibiotic for the infection. The sooner you get this done the better not only for pain but also to prevent any infection from spreading.

This is gonna sound grose but it works.Take a needle and sterlize it.Then you want to put ice on the bump to numb it you gotta try to get in the nose and get under the skin and pull the ingrown hair slowly out from under the skin. Some puss may come out because of the swelling just have some peroxide or what you can use available to clean up .don't poke the skin deep you just want to get the surface hair the hair that curled back under the skin.I've done this before for my brother so i know it works-good luck

witch hazel will reduce the swelling. don't use alcohol though, it will dry out the skin.

if it is getting that painful she should see a doctor. sometimes they have to lance it to get the end free. also, if she has heart problems, she doesn't need the inflammation in her body so she really needs to go to the doctor.

Take her to the Dr. They will be able to aspirate(sp?) it and give her some antibiotics to clear up the infection.
