Before you answer with, "it wasn't dangerous until Adam & Eve were thrown out of paradise." keep in mind that PLATECTONICS, which is responsible for earthquakes and volcanoes, has been going on for BILLIONS of years. This obviously predates the biblical story of Adam & Eve... unless we are to believe that Eden wasn't on planet earth!

Why wouldn't an almighty god who can do anything, and who so LOVES his children, create a reasonably STABLE planet for us to live on? Some volcanoes have erupted so catastrophically, they have thrown off the entire planet's photosynthesis cycle for years at a time. What sin merits a world-wide famine that lasts for years? What moral lesson does a ten year old child learn from this?

Earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, not to mention ICE AGES, kill hundreds of millions of innocent people every century, and have been doing so since before recorded history, all the way back to our planets very beginning.

This is the work of a loving god?

So based on what some people are saying, god deems it necessary to slaughter millions of innocents on a yearly basis in order to test the faith of the rest. So the next time a hundred thousand Chinese are killed in a flood, that is MY FAITH being tested!?!?!

(sigh) as I expected. Nothing but brainwashed fools proclaiming that innocent death and destruction is all part of their loving gods plan. I'd love to see faith after they had to inhale some burning hot sulfuric ash, or have their legs burned off in a lava flow. Yep... it'a all to prevent you fools from taking this paradise for granted.

doesnt the earth belong to satan?

First of all, God loves us no matter what sin we commit, no matter how much we reject Him in our lives. The reason why He lets us suffer and have struggles right under his eyes is because he wants us to, during our hardships and struggles, to remain faithful to him and trust Him.

I mean, think about it. If the whole Earth was perfect and there were no sin, no nature disaters, no whatsoever, there is just no point in living. Because everything would just be so easy and simple.
Ok, my point is that if there were no [things that i mentioned before], we would not learn how to ask God for help. I can't explain furthere. It's too complicated.

You must not know the story of Adam and Eve. It is documented that Adam and Eve were created when the rest of the world was, in seven literal days. This world was perfect--no death, pain, discomfort, saddness, etc.--untill Eve was dicieved by satan. She and Adam disobeyed God by breaking the one rule he gave them: do not eat the forbidden fruit. Thus, thier eyes were opened to good and evil, wrong and right, and sin entered the world. This was when the world became hostile.

God loves us so much that he gave us free will. We are not puppets designed to follow commands. Man creates his own destiny. God will decide when to end it.

As far as natural disasters are concerned, God allows the earth to demonstrate the consequences sin has had on Creation.

This is all the work of a loving God who only wishes our love and faith in return.

Boo hoo! You really struck a nerve! I'm gonna tear up my picture of the blonde Jesus.
What do you think,God is your personal "Valet".
"Oh,excuse me sir, more wine?"God says,"May I be excused for a moment? My son is being crucified. No? As you wish sir.How can I make you more comfortable?"
What a bunch of fat ,lazy slugs we'd be.We wouldn't invent anything,we'd be like those "future people " in 'The Time Machine'(starring Rod Taylor)and that would be a drag.Think of this as Ranger Boot camp.and also remember "S$!t Happens".
PS William B has a good point.Until Jesus returns the Earth is under Satans rule (Somewhat).

Well god put us on this earth so that we can grow. The way things grow is through adversity. In the grand scheme of things our adversity is but a spec in the eternities. How else can we be happy if we are not growing and challenging ourselves. Lets face it I sure as heck aint gonna sit on a cloud forever and play a harp. That is just plain boring. Anyway I hope this helps

What you're asking for is a theodicy. A theodicy is a 'vindication of God's goodness and justice in the face of the existence of evil.' There is no satisfying answer to your question because there is no theodicy that works, not even the popular "free will" one.

God is supposed to be all powerful and all knowing. This means he could have created a world with absolutely no evil, suffering, pain, or harm whatsoever. Because suffering obviously exists, we can come to one of the following conclusions:

1. God is evil/immoral/doesn't care
2. God doesn't exist
3. God does not have the power to stop evil (which means he's not god, which means god doesn't exist)

“Either God wants to abolish evil, and cannot; or he can, but does not want to... If he wants to, but cannot, he is impotent. If he can, but does not want to, he is wicked... If, as they say, God can abolish evil, and God really wants to do it, why is there evil in the world?”

As I understand from what others tell us, is to find the way through all this destruction to him. Maybe it's the same as a child building a hamster tunnel, seeing him go through the obstacles to reach where he wants him to be.

These are all tests. What would be the use if the world was perfect? God tests us, he places us here, and he watches us live.

......

....unless you believe the earth is 6,000-10,000 years old and that destruction didn't come till after Noahs flood.

its circular reasoning by the way

as for a loving God.....the Bible clearly states this is not our home
