what should i do when i dyed my hair dark brown and i want it to be lighter in a couple of days?

AHHHH! DO NOT RE-DYE your hair..... hair color works in a very specific way, remember this rule always- you can never go lighter with hair color alone, only a bleaching agent will lighten previously colored hair. My suggestion would be to try to see a stylist who will bleach your hair, and then re-apply color to the desired shade. if this option isnt possible, then do it yourself with a cream bleech and then a toner.
If you try to use color alone, it only stands to darken your hair even more, or turn your roots light, with black ends, not pretty man.

I had my hair dyed dark brown with semi-permanent color 2 months ago and was able to lighten it right away. I combed Dawn dish detergent through and let it sit. I also combed olive oil though and heated it with a blow dryer and put a plastic shower cap on it for an hour or so. I washed it out with Pantene Clarifying shampoo (Prell works really well for stripping color, too.) I did these treatments for a few days. I understand the first 72 hours are your best opportunity but my hair has continued to lighten up.

Re-dye it in a lighter shade of brown or buy a light brown wig and wear it.

You could try re-dyeing it, or use a color rinse shampoo and see if that helps.

But if you are afraid of damaging your hair, the least damaging option might be a wig.
