Let me rephrase this -- my boyfriend used to ask me to marry him and used to say I made his day all the time. Then we had a fight, and we've made up...but now I bring up the marriage thing kind of jokingly, and he'll say stuff like "what?" and "that's scary." It's kind of hurtful, why isn't he being all cute like he used to be? I know it's probably reality setting in, but does this mean that he doesn't feel that way anymore?
And I do notttt want to rush that sort of thing anyway, but it was so nice to hear. So can I ask him about this? And if so, how should I? :/

he said it because he was giddy in love and talking of a pretend future-now he may feel he's reaching a point where your taking it serious and he's backing off.just a tip-men never consider marriage talk a joke..more of a horror story

Yup, guys get freaked out when asked about emotions. i'm a bit freeked out just answering this question.

I'd say he used to think of marrige as a joke, until the reality of it set in..and hit him like a ton of bricks. He likely still feels the same. Go ahead and ask.

no he shouldn't freak out. I think he'll probly tell you the problem. and he might have gotten the idea that you didn't like it... but if you ask him I think you'll probly get a lot further than if you just try to figgure it out.
