Don't try and make him open up. The more you pry, the more he'll hide. Just be a friend for a while, crack some jokes, see if he warms up a bit.

Just say Hi as you pass him in the halls or wherever and take it alittle at a time. Let him know you're there if he ever needs a friend to talk to and so on. Maybe make the first move and if he seems interested..ask him to a movie or something.

one way to get someone to open up is to find something that you both share an interest in. a movie, book, show or something like that could spark a conversation. just be patient, he will open up. he has to get used to you. shy people need to feel comfortable around people and new people make them feel uncomfortable.

its tough, I was really shy once. Try to find out what he likes to do, ride, run, hoops, sci fi.....what ever. then do a little research....on that. introduce it into the conversation, he'll talk about what he feels comforatable with. Bring a friend along so there are no dead spots..
Trouble is sometimes.......you won't get him to shut up when you;re ready to make out........one thing at a time.

No matter what, that situation will take time, time for him to get comfortable with you and for you to know more about him to get him to open up. Its a investment and you have to decide is it worth it or not. Oh and no matter what he, will always be shy so if you don't like it now.......you will hate it later.
Good Luck

shy people tend to just close up and stay quite right.so what ur job to do is put him in positions were he has to interact with u or others start by gaining his trust then tell him its ok to be loud and social and its ok to act goofy then u find a song that maybe he knows then try and have him sing along with u it worked for my girlfriend and we are now together for a year and she is a whole changed person.

He is not shy he is responsible. Well he is shy, but that is not really why he is acting the way he is. Just get your mind on other things. You're sixteen, don't worry about boys.

try to find out what kind of things he like doing, favorite movies, food, color, anything really. Try to find something you two have in common and then ask if you can hang out and probably go do together.
