Hemorrhoids are the most common cause of rectal bleeding, although if you are badly constipated and strain passing a stool it can tear the tender tissues of the lower intestine and also cause bleeding. If it happens on a regular basis, I would say it's more likely hemorrhoids. To treat that, you need to change your diet to include more fruits, veggies and fiber, eat less meat, more wholegrain foods, and drink lots of liquids. To help with the discomfort, you can use hemorrhoid pads like Tucks to clean yourself and help heal the irritated and swollen tissues. Don't use dry toilet paper, it's much too rough on those. Use baby wipes, gently, to clean yourself, and then a hemorrhoid pad. If you don't want to buy them, you can also use a baby wipe and witch hazel. Witch hazel is sold in stores usually near the rubbing alcohol. It won't burn at all, and will actually feel very good. If things are really painful, keep the witch hazel or pads cold in the fridge. Cold really feels wonderful when things get hot and bothered.
At no time should you see blood dripping or running, and if you get more than a little bit on the paper, you need to visit the doctor. There are suppositories to insert that do a much better job with soothing and healing, but you need a prescription for those. Also, if the vein is distended that badly, or sagging outside, the doctor can put it back in place. In the worst case, it can be removed surgically, but that would not be your first, choice option. Better to change the diet and give nature time to heal. Stay with the diet, and it should heal itself completely and cause no other problems. Don't use any laxatives to keep moving, though. Diarrhea is not your friend, its just as bad as being constipated in this case. If you are eating properly, things should move well on their own. If needed you can add things like prunes or raisins to encourage it. Put some reading material in the little room, and wait patiently. Don't try to strain to rush the matter, and don't sit for extended periods of time. If it doesn't happen within 15-20 minutes it isn't going to happen. You should go at least once a day, every two days at most for most adults eating a normal healthy diet. If you aren't able to move things along on your own, you can try Colace, but beyond that, visit your doctor.

I'm not a doctor, but you could have inter hemoroids. Did you have a hard bowel movement you may have done some damage to the small blood vessels in that particular area. Or if you are actually seeing blood in the toilet I would get to the doctors ASAP you could have a bleeding alcer.

Could just be a hemorroid, which is just a blood vessel that becomes engorged from straining. If it persists, you should see a doctor because it can lead to an infection, you definately don't want an infected butt!

There could be several reasons. I won't go into all of them not wanting to alarm you, but one reason could be hemorrhoids. (swollen blood vessel that could have broken) That is nothing serious. I would STRONGLY suggest that if it persists you contact your doctor right away!

Depends on how much you are talking about. it could be anything from a broken blood vessel to a serious internal hemorrhage that could be life threatening. you need to see a Dr.
