I live in an apartment and am looking to get a small dog, which one of these doesnt bark a ton, is clean, and snuggly. Is a female or male better to get? Also i will be traveling alot in air and wonder which would do best on airplanes?

Definetely not the maltese. They are not very intelligent and tend to have terrible behavioural problems. I am not sure about which is best out of the oher breeds. I wouldn't recommend too much fly time for any breed of dog as their ears are ultra sensitive and they may have problems later on due to the high altitudes and noises in the compartment where they are kept.

umm well the sex all depends on ur preference males are usually calmer but alot of ppl like females! (i like males better) but as far as traveling ang going places a maltese would be the ideal dog for this! they dont bark they r clean and they love to be with ppl and travel and see new things! yorkies typically have separation anxiety and tend to bark alot! pomeranians are too hyper for me and dont really like to sit still! papillions are nice but they can sometimes be hyper and need a lot of room to run and play! well hope i helped good luck!

well sweetie, i love yorkies, on one hand they do not shed, but they bark! they are very hyper. but most small dogs of any breed are generally hyper. a female is most always better behaved, and more likley to adapt faster, females will not be as likley to mark or spray, either way you need to get them fixed for many reasons, unless you plan to breed them. i am a vet ast. and it seems to me the papillon is much more quite as far as the barking. good luck with your new baby, and GOD BLESS you both.

All of them will make great pets as long as you train them properly and take good care of them. I have heard horror stories about every breed and each gender, so it all comes down to how you train them. Just be sure to start training early in order to avoid developing bad habits.

you should get a female and the type of dog, hmmmm, I'd say a papillon.
Mind you, if you need help with the name, it should be Melanie, Sugar,Princess,Cassy,Angel, Cally or Maria.

maltese cute ,snuggly and loyal, boys are normally a more lovely and want to cuddle (but get him desexed otherwise he'll pee on everything) good luck dog shopping

I think Maltese is good because they have the least amount of dog smell. And, the cutest. Don't know about the air.

Maltese. They are extremely friendly, playful, easy to train, and cute. Maltese don't shed and are small and easy to take care of.

But I don't know about the breed -- research them. Yorkies are soo cute but they do bark... Google them.
