I would start with some low weight lifting, like using a 10lbs weight and lift this, and try to build up some endurance in your arms. It might take some while, but if you can do this, it will help. I am right now just starting to work out and before I did, I struggled to get to 10. Now, a little over two weeks in I can easily get to 10-15 and am doing about 70-100 in a single day. I am learning though not to push to hard. If you ever get too tired, take a day or two off to allow your muscles to heal and build up the ripped muscle fiber. Make sure as well to eat plenty of protein to help promote muscle health, and that you eat the right type of carbs for energy. Make sure that you eat the right about foods with not too much sodium, and that you drink enough water. I'm not saying cut out sodium at all, because it's critical for nerve health, just make sure you don't have too much, else you can dehydrate and harm what ever progress you might get. Another thing, try to keep a journal of your progress. It makes you responsible to yourself, and is one of many tools that you can use to keep yourself on track.

There are a couple of more tips that I have for you: make sure that you learn how to do a proper push-up, and that when you do start to do the "military-style" or a full push up that you also do some work on your back muscles so you can keep it straight and that you don't put to much stress you your back /spine.

My gym teacher told me that there are several ways to do your pushups. The first and easy one is doing your pushups on a wall. Simply put both hands on the wall and move up and down. Then try doing the actual pushups on the floor. But go on your knees and move your arms up, just like on the wall. After you conquer that step, you're probably ready to do pushups.
Another hint is to check your posture. Make sure your bottom is really straight, not hanging in the air. Make sure your lower part of your body touches the ground, not the front. Good luck. ;-)
