I Don't Know What to Think , either. The religion and the Missionaries are Great. I Love them, but they prefer the Book of Mormon and we are only suppose to use the Holy Bible. We are not suppose to change the wording in the Holy Bible. I prayed to God to give me the answers. I have serious questions about Joseph Smith. I don't know what to think, either !! Take time to decide !

The book of mormon is based off of one guys "ideas". There are dates, places, people and events that can be verified by "secular" writtings/history. Can that be said of the book of mormon? No. Have we found history of the people Joseph Smith claimed lived in the United States during the Bibilical ages? No. They magically disappeared. Even if you can get past all of that, the book of mormon basically teaches you that if you do enough good stuff on earth, you will become a minor god and have your own planet. How much is "enough" good? So there are millions or billions of planets, but no life on them...so why would you want to be a god over one of them?? There are way too many holes in the mormon religion...it doesn't hold water.

I'm afraid not. If you believe Mormon teachings then prior to Joseph Smith there was no such thing as polygamy. He is a false prophet in that he wanted to bend the law for his own profit. How funny that "prophet" and "profit" come up like that together. Never noticed before.
If Joseph Smith's teachings include kindness and tolerance toward everyone, then follow those for your own heart and spirit.
All the best on your journey!

Yes, absolutely. I KNOW he is truly a prophet of God, that he spoke with God the Father and Jesus Christ. I have a testimony of the translation of the Book of Mormon.
I challange you to pray to your Heavenly Father, if you truly want an answer, He will hear your prayer. He is the only un-biased correct answer you will receive too, and He will not lead you astray.
Good luck.
*******By the way Joseph was martyred because of unbelievers hatred towards him. They were afraid of what he was saying and in no way could believe it, they were full of hate that was straight from Satan himself. They thought if they killed him, the religion would "go away". Satan knows it is the correct church, why do you think there are so many who fight against it so much and not against other churches??? Because he plants doubt, fear and hatred in their minds and leads them astray...

If you mean about meeting the Angel of Morons and being given golden tablets and the means wherewith to translate them... I'd say no.
The book or mormon is obviously a very bad biblical forgery, and the fact that the tablets and whatever helped to translate them were "given back" afterward rather than kept as holy relics, historical artefacts, and proof of the rightness of the new faith is a rather lame cover up story.
None of the events allegated in mormon writings about pre 1492 American history has been corroborated by scholarship, history or archaeology.

I'll put it to you this way, I was in the process of converting until I read about Smith and the gold tablets. Ironic that the tablets were deciphered and came out similar to the King James Version of the Bible isn't it? Was this version God's or Marconi's words? Why not in Smith's words? I believe he used the King James Version as it would appear more "godly" and thus more believable than his own words.

I don't, I'm not a mormon. I've read a decent bit, and it seems so..doubtful. He came in a clearing in the woods, and an angel came in and told him about these Gold Tablets, and how he wasn't ready at that time to read him, but years later he was and found them under a rock and could read them. Honestly, I think he was on shrooms, that would account for the hallucination of the angel. Because what traditional mormonism teaches today, is not what Jesus Christ taught, at all.

I'm sure he was a real PERSON... whether or not he was a manifestation of God in the True sense, is another question... I think however people find the Divine and incorporate it into their lives is Right.

Joseph Smith wrote his own truth, which is false truth. It is false doctrine. Many follow him, and that is exactly what the bible tells us to beware of- false prophets and teachers that go around proclaiming the truth of God, when really they are sending people straight to hell. You need to see if what the Mormon Bible is in align with what the Holy Bible says- and you will see it is NOT. They have added to God's word- and taken away from it. God tells us to not do that- God's word is Holy and does NOT change.
Proverbs 30:6
Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.
Revelation 22:18
I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.
-And he did add to the book of Revelation....They have very messed up beliefs- that have NOTHING to do with the truth of God.

umm considering the circumstances which he developed his relgion under .. he had good intention but overall was a bit a scammer , he wanted people to do the right thing and respect God in the right way.... Which in reality was believing in God and having the same morals as he did ...once agin the intention was good but i certainloy don't agree with his approach each individual should be free to find God on their own accord any organised relgion is for people who are too weak to seek god themselves kinda like a charity they offer salvation instead of money,
