I am not concerned, actually, I am against single-gender schools. They coddle people - the world isn't separated into single-gender work environments, why should schools be. The most important thing kids do as they grow up is learn how to relate and socialize with others, and that should include people of the opposite gender.

Curious - the title on your question and the details seem diametrically opposed to each other.
Anyway. No, I'm not concerned. I've taught in single-sex male, single-sex female, and coed classrooms. I prefer the coed, but my preference is irrelevant. Studies show that girls do better in single-sex classrooms while boys do better in coed environments. I refuse to speculate as to the reasons. Regardless of what the studies show, though, every student is unique. I think it important that students and parents have a variety of options when it comes to education so the best fit for the student can be found. Consequently, I would have a problem if there were no coeducational institutions around, but I would also have a problem if there were no single-sex ones around. Both are necessary.
As to why we moved away from them, I think it was something of a reaction to the rather Victorian sensibilities that controlled education in the late Nineteenth Century, added to the fact that most girls do prefer a coeducational setting regardless of where they do best.

Because its not the way society goes. One can confine themselves to a single gender school, and wake up in the real world with a COMPLETE shock. I believe that one should have a reality check from a young age, so one wont be so unaccustom to the different atmosphere when school is over.

Yes! of course. i don't want to be in a boy's only class. sometimes girls are real smart, and they help us. And sometimes a girl's perspective of something might help some of us understand stuff. more or less it justs sexist stuff. it goes back to the time where girls shouldn't go to school and all that. they'll probaly make the girls do frilly work, while guys have to do real brain crunchers. and sometimes the opposite sex really stimulates the human mind. if there's any proof about these segregated sex classes, please show them
