They are building 5 towers on the site - 7 World Trade Center, which is already done, the 1776 foot tall Freedom Tower, which will be finished in 3 or 4 years, and 3 other 50 story towers.

New York is still the center of world trade no matter what they call the buildings there. The evil punks that flew the planes into our towers didn't stop America, and we won't go down as easy as all the muslim terrorist fools think. Call it whatever, New York is still the real World Trade Center.

I'm beginning to wonder. There's a lot of political shenannigans going on regarding the construction of anything on the site. Penn and Teller did a really great bit on HBO regarding this debacle.

Yes. They are in the process of designing it right now. It will not be nearly as tall.
The activities in the buildings were too important to completely forget about, even after the events.

ya they are building 2 new ones that are going to be about 600 feet taller than the old ones. Im not sure if their building them at ground zero or not though

they already started, supposedly by 2008 construction should reach ground level. it's called the 'freedom tower'. if you count the spire on top it's projected to be 1776ft after the year of our countries birth
