I like this guy a lot, and he always used to talk to me, but latelt he's becoming distant. His friends and my friends have both told me he likes me, and as I said, I like him too, but he hasn't been talking to me nearly as much. He used to talk to me for hours every night, but now he might text me once a week, and we'll only talk for about an hour and a half... What's going on?

This is exactly what happened to me and this guy...

We liked eachother, talked every night for hours (as you did), started going out a little, and then it started going downhill..It's like our great convos just started fading away.

I think it's mostly because the guy is kind of scared, like he thinks it's going to become too serious. I would keep it at the friend level...it's either that option w/ great convos and a great friendship or the option of "going out" w/akward silences possibly and an akward relationship...

Hope this helps!

Not Dr Steve but.....Guys (and girls) are like that sometimes, and who knows why...maybe he thought you two were going too fast and wanted to slow it down, maybe he is spending time with another girl. That happened to me recently, this guy was all into me, callin and texting, then I sent him a message saying I would be out and he should give me a call if he wanted to meet up, he didnt talk to me for 3 days and all I got was a text saying I was being too forceful...but he chased me and called me and all that, so who knows, its not like I wanted a serious relationship or to have his kids ya know what I mean. If you really need to know ask him next time you talk, but dont be defensive or he will withdraw or become defensive make sure you dont get too pushy....if he skirts around answering, then you have your answer...oh yeah and if you want specific people to answer your question maybe you should have their email addresses already but thanks for posting so the rest of us could get points

I'm not Dr. Steve but I'll try to answer your question. Most guys really don't want to spend a lot of time on the phone, they like the touchy feely kind of stuff. You may not be loosing him, but he just may be trying to fix it so that he can focus only on what you are saying and nothing else. If you want to be for sure on whats on his mind, just ask him, then you be the judge.

It doesn't sound like he's at all serious about you, but you are about him.
Try this: back off, don't call, don't text, don't even speak to him if you see him except for a breezy "Oh, hi. didn't see you there"
After a week or two he will be putty in your hands and you can chalk one up to feminine ways winning again.
Boys hate to be ignored, and generally they always want what they believe they can't have. be cool, be elusive, you'll get him in the end.

If it's meant to be, it will be. Find out what things you have in common and do those things. He might make a good friend, but in a different light he may make for a lousy boyfriend
