Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aMQjZ
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

I use a gym whistle for training and for field work ( bird retrieving)
because if I'm in the field with someone else and their dogs then the gym whistle wont effect the other dogs in the field.

any whistle will do .dog wistlers are high frequency ,they are specially for dogs and we can hardly hear them ,but they can ,that is the only difference,
a dog will respond to any kind of signal,
clapping your hands or even just sign language ,waving your hand .
if you can whistle through your teeth use that because one presumes you always carry them with you
dog whistles DO NOT hurt their ears, they are made for dogs

Either one will work the only thing with a dog whistle is that just not your dog will hear it but Avery other dog will to.

use a normal whistle, because those dog ones really do hurt dogs ears. so use a regular one. it will still get her attention. Good Luck

Use a squeaky dog toy. You really do not have to do that. Just train your Lab everyday and be consistent. Our Lab is great. We trained him with treats as rewards.
They are easy to train if you treat them with respect and no harm.

I use a "pea-less" safety whistle. They don't have the chirpchirpchirp sound of gym whistles, and you can control the frequency (to some extent) by how hard you blow. They are affordable. Amazon has a variety: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_sg/105-7466288-7127613?url=search-alias%3Dsporting&field-keywords=whistle+safety&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=Go
I use a model similar to: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_sg/105-7466288-7127613?url=search-alias%3Dsporting&field-keywords=whistle+safety&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=Go
