The Dark Side of the Moon actually has nothing to do with light:
It is the side that faces away from the earth:
Tidal forces between Earth and the Moon have slowed the Moon's rotation so that the same side is always facing the Earth. The other face, which is never visible from the Earth in its entirety, is therefore called the "far side of the Moon". The far side should not be confused with the "dark side" (the hemisphere that is not illuminated by the Sun), as the two are the same only during a full moon. Both the near and far sides receive (on average) almost equal amounts of light from the Sun.-WIKI
But TWAIN probably meant the FAR side, because most poets and writers refer to it that way since PLATO. I don't know which anal astronomer wrote the above. They can be used somewhat interchangably.
Yes, we all have secrets. But some rare people in are lives are like the space probes that finally can photograph the unknown.

To me it means everyone is a light, that you can see, but the dark side, meaning the evil in people you cannot see. The evil comes from within which is something you cannot see for which is dark.

It means the same thing like having skeletons hidden in the closet. Or, in other words, everybody has some secrets they do not want to share with others. To bigger or smaller degree this statement applies to everybody.

it means beware the dark side of the force....
easier it is to pursue the path of the darkside....quicker is the responce and powerful the answer...but beware for once you start down the path there is no turning back, comsume you it will....as it did darth vader...
embrace the light and pursue the long path, at the end you will be more powerful than a sith......

It means that every person tries to show their brightest side when everyone can see them (at night) but when unseen they go invisible but no matter what they never show their dark side - or cruel side.

i think it means that everyone has a part of them that they dont show to anyone. you might show part of youself to some people, but you never reveal your whole self to everyone. everyone has a dark side. i guess sometimes it can describe me because i dont want everyone to see everything about me. thats my dark side

he ment that every one has a dark side, that he does not want any one to see. Its like the term closet case
