Theres this dog near my house thats for sale that I REALLY want! Acting responsible and everything does not soften my mom up one bit! That won't help -- Believe me, I've tried it! Her only 'reason' (well, more like excuse) is "I hate dogs!" We had one before, but when I was around 3. I want on SO BADLY! Advice **BESIDES** acting 'responsible'?

I have $100 - $150 saved up and the dog is $250. His siblings went FAST. Seven of them, born Sept. 26th, he's the only one left.

Maybe you should sit down with her and have a chat, avoid juvenile behaviour such as whining and begging go straight to the point, "why does she hate dogs"? if she won't open up give some excuse tell her your responsible enough to hear the truth and if she really hates dogs you should know why, then maybe you can address the truth as to why you don't have a dog. Physiology my dear, might solve your problem. Plus check out "Dog whisper"

First of all, stop acting responsible, and BE responsible. Yes, they are two different things. Second of all, if your mom says that you can't have a dog and you are staying on it, that is not helping, just making things worse. If mom says no the answer is no. Sooner or later you will have your own house and you can have whatever dog you want. Trust me, if it was meant to happen you would have your dog, if not, then maybe there is another dog not born yet that is for you in the future. Hang in there. I had to wait till I was 17 for my first dog, and it was so worth it. I thought I wanted one before, but then my life took off and I didn't have time for anything. When things slowed back down, and I moved out, and had my own space I got my dog. And it was worth the wait!!!

she hates dogs and the more you bug her the more she will hate them...
an adult will be responsible for accepting the lifetime commitment that getting a pet entails.. buying food, providing shelter and medical care (emergency care too)
if you got the dog.. what would happen when you move out or go to College and cannot find a place to take the dog?? will your mom love it and care for it???
best thing.. save your money - buy a house.. get what ever dog you want when YOU are the adult
* if she hates dogs she will hate pups even more.. they poop and pee all over.. require house training and obedience training AND will chew and destroy.. let somebody who is better prepared get this pup

Number one it is your mom's house and what she says goes.
Number two if you can't afford the money to pay for the dog, you don't have the money to take care of it.
Number three if you have to act responsible that is not enough. You have to be responsible.
Take up a harmless hobby like crossdressig It is not cheaper but you don't have to feed the clothes.

when i was 7 i really wanted this jack russel/border collie puppy, and my parents said 'no' as soon as i mentioned it.
the dog was 200$ so i told the breeder that i would make the money.
it worked.

tell your parent YOU will make the money, clean up the dog ****, and other crap.

Ask your mom to just go and look at the dog with you...maybe the dog will win her over...

sorry but since your parents are still the boss of you so what they say goes. That's just the way parents are. No matter what you do you can't really do anything unless you can somehow change your mom's mind.

Sorry kiddo... you're going to have to wait until you're old enough to get your own place. When a mom "hates dogs" you're sunk!
