Black is NOT a color. It is the ABSENCE of all light. We can use hues to create the representation of the absence of light---which is black. The "colors of the rainbow" do not have black.

Black is the combination of all color that is why all light rays are obsorbed by it, (hence black car gets hot in sun) where as whites is the absence of all color, and therefore it absorbs no light (hence stays cool in sun).

Color is the way you "see" certain wavelengths of light. Since color is light, and everything is black when there is no light, then black cannot be technicaly considered a "color"...

Although some people will not admit it is, it is! But if it is 100% pure it is not considered a color, people that paint always asks these type of questions, they can just grab color mixing books and they will tell you.

Black is a combination of all colours, so you can't isolate it as a colour. White is the absense of colour so strictly speaking it is not a colour either. If you mix pure primary colours together you will get black.

actually, black is the absence of colour, that is why every colour in the spectrum of light is absorbed by it.
