I just bought an indonesian dining room table and chairs - very dark teak. My diningroom has a yellowish mushroom color wall extending from the livingroom meeting a coolish dark brown feature wall directly behind the table. I feel like the dark red of the wood and the coolness of the brown just aren't working - any thoughts on other colors to try - I like a deep feature wall in the dining room for mood.

AGREE WITH THE OTHER TWO LADIES, A DEEP RED ON ONE WALL, MAYBE A STIPE OF DEEP RED OVER THE MUSHROOM COLOR TOO, TO BLEND IT TOGETHER. USE A HUNTER GREEN FOR ACCENT COLOR IN BOTH ROOMS..CARRY THE DEEP RED INTO THE LIVING ROOM WITH FLOWERS OR PAINTINGS INCORPORATING ALL COLORS...GOOD LUCK

Maybe a reddish wall would tie in the dark red of the wood. Red and "yellowish mushroom" on the other walls would combine to make a warm feeling in the room. I have a red and yellow toile wallpaper in my office and I love it. You might wallpaper that feature wall, too.

Is the room large enough to use a dark red on the single wall??
I love red and it would really pick up the red detail in the table.
Good luck!
Sounds gorgeous!

a bold terra-cotta will accent the reddish tones of the table plus it will contrast well with the yellow on the other wall

"Josi" is right... dark red, or a deepish-brightish red will really make the room seem more relaxing and comfortable. And another positive is it will make the room seem a little more richer, spacious and warmer.
