My father was a conservative preacher & he was adament that sex was natural & good - NOT a sin.

I'm not sure what kind of "devious plan" you are talking about but the only plan was for a man & woman to join & have a family together. I don't exactly think thats a devious plan!

First of all there is nothing devious about God's plan, he put man and woman on the earth and told them to be fruitful and multiply. Man made sex ugly and dirty Gods plan for sex was for it only to happen in a martial relationship because sex is as much spiritual and physical.

Sexuality is a mojor part of being a human being. We are sexual beings, created either male or female (Genesis 1:27) so the bible has a lot to say about sex.
Most people are aware that the bible addresses the issue of human sexuality, but until they really study the subject they believe that the bible's main teaching is a warning against sex. That is not true.
It is true that the Bible warns us that not all sexual behavior is good, but it also proclaims the good news that our sexuality is divinely creted and that it is a figt from God for our enjoyment.
The story of sexuality begins at the time of creation. Adam was created first, but as he named all the other creatures, he felt something missing. There was no "helper that was right for him." (Genesis 2:20).

In a word, he was lonely and needed th companionship of an equal.

In His great wisdom, God caused Adam to fall asleep and created Eve from a rib. (Genesis 2:20-22). The choice of a rib was intentional. Eve was created from Adam, showing tht there was an original unity, which is recreated in marriage and specifically in the act of sex.

But because of the original sin. Sex was now beset with problem, as were all areas of human life.
but even with all the dangers associated with sex, the bible invites us to enjoy and celebrate sex within marriage...

Read the Song of Solomon for the best love story and sexual adventure in the bible.

Why do you think sex was devious? I don't think it was part of Gods plan I thank it was the most practical way for live evolution to develop.
Why would man bother to procreate if sex wasn't recreational? xx

There's nothing devious about sex God intended it for procreation not recreation. It wasn't meant to be perverted but man made it that way.

There is nothing devious about sex. Some people make it devious but "nothing is unclean in and of itself".

Sex was a part of God's wonderful, lovely, fun and exciting plan for our lives. Anyone who believes that being a Christian is restrictive should remember that God is the one who created us as sexual beings. He loved us enough to make sure we could be physically satisfied. Yet another reason to praise God!

No
Along with all other kinds of sexual immorality, sex before marriage / premarital sex is repeatedly condemned in Scripture (Acts 15:20; Romans 1:29; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:13,18; 7:2; 10:8; 2 Corinthians 12:21; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:3; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Jude 7). The Bible promotes abstinence before marriage. Sex before marriage is just as wrong as adultery and other forms of sexual immorality, because they all involve having sex with someone you are not married to. Sex between a husband and his wife is the only form of sexual relations that God approves of (Hebrews 13:4).
Sex before marriage has become so common for many reasons. Far too often we focus on the “recreation” aspect of sex without recognizing the “re-creation” aspect. Yes, sex is pleasurable. God designed it that way. He wants men and women to enjoy sexual activity (within the confines of marriage). However, the primary purpose of sex is not pleasure, but rather reproduction. God does not outlaw sex before marriage to rob us of pleasure, but to protect us from unwanted pregnancies and children born to parents who do not want them or are not prepared for them. Imagine how much better our world would be if God’s pattern for sex was followed: fewer sexually transmitted diseases, fewer un-wed mothers, fewer unwanted pregnancies, fewer abortions, etc. Abstinence is God’s only policy when it comes to sex before marriage. Abstinence saves lives, protects babies, gives sexual relations the proper value, and most importantly honors God.

God made sex so we could start families. He also made it so good, so we could be tested whether we would avoid sinning even though it's tempting. Also, Muslim scholars say unlimited guiltless and sinless (and much better) sex is a reward in Paradise, so it is kind of God giving us a small preview of it on earth.

no. God wanted sex to be used for procreation only. Due to original sin, and Satan, it is now a lustful issue. However with the grace of God, we must keep it pure.
