Skeptics have used Cain’s wife time and again to try to discredit the book of Genesis as a true historical record.
Cain was the first child of Adam and Eve recorded in Scripture (Genesis 4:1). His brothers, Abel (Genesis 4:2) and Seth (Genesis 4:25), were part of the first generation of children ever born on this Earth.
Even though only these three males are mentioned by name, Adam and Eve had other children. In Genesis 5:4 a statement sums up the life of Adam and Eve—‘And the days of Adam after he had fathered Seth were eight hundred years. And he fathered sons and daughters.’ This does not say when they were born. Many could have been born in the 130 years (Genesis 5:3) before Seth was born.
During their lives, Adam and Eve had a number of male and female children. The Jewish historian Josephus wrote that, ‘The number of Adam’s children, as says the old tradition, was thirty-three sons and twenty-three daughters.’11
The Bible does not tell us how many children were born to Adam and Eve. However, considering their long life spans (Adam lived for 930 years—Genesis 5:5), it would seem reasonable to suggest there were many! Remember, they were commanded to ‘Be fruitful, and multiply’ (Genesis 1:28).
If we now work totally from Scripture, without any personal prejudices or other extra-Biblical ideas, then back at the beginning, when there was only the first generation, brothers would have had to have married sisters or there would be no more generations!
We are not told when Cain married or any of the details of other marriages and children, but we can say for certain that some brothers had to marry their sisters at the beginning of human history.
With a perfect (or near-perfect) genetic code, incest was not the problem it became (and was outlawed by Scripture) later.
Adam and Eve did not have accumulated genetic mistakes. When the first two people were created, they were physically perfect. Everything God made was ‘very good’ (Genesis 1:31), so their genes were perfect—no mistakes! But, when sin entered the world (because of Adam—Genesis 3:6ff, Romans 5:12), God cursed the world so that the perfect creation then began to degenerate, that is, suffer death and decay (Romans 8:22). Over thousands of years, this degeneration has produced all sorts of genetic mistakes in living things.
Cain was in the first generation of children ever born. He (as well as his brothers and sisters) would have received virtually no imperfect genes from Adam or Eve, since the effects of sin and the Curse would have been minimal to start with (it takes time for these copying errors to accumulate). In that situation, brother and sister could have married with God’s approval, without any potential to produce deformed offspring.

A lot of folks will say that Cain took one of his sisters as his wife. Problem with that is the conversation between Cain and "God"
Gen 4:13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment [is] greater than I can bear.
Gen 4:14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, [that] every one that findeth me shall slay me.
Since this is shortly after his slaying of his brother and they were supposedly the only two children of Adam and Eve at that point the sister thing doesn't hold water. What people was he worried about slaying him?
Gen 4:15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
Gen 4:16 And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden
If the Bible is as has been said by many to be a historical book then why is it that it is not until Gen 4: 25 that it Get back to Eve having Seth to replace Able? By this point the generations of Cain are quite a few.
It would seem that if you follow the Christian Bible literally then Adam and Eve were not the only people

Adam and Eve had other children, besides Cain, Abel, and Seth. Even the Bible says this, which the Bible also says that Adam had many grandchildren when he died at the age of 930.
Cain, Abel, and Seth are just the most important of Adam and Eve's children which is why the Bible only goes on to explain and tell more stories about them. Cain is the first murderer, Abel is the first martyr for God, and Seth has the Spirit of his father, Adam, which Jesus comes out of the line of Seth and in the book of Matthew, Matthew does proves that Jesus came from the line of Seth.
Cain's wife is his sister. Yes, incest in Genesis was allowed back then, but only for a period of time. WHY? What other way would their be to multiple the earth? Cain took his sister for his wife and left for the land of Nod, after Cain was condemened and marked for killing his brother Abel.
also too the genes and DNA in that time period were still pure and perfect, which is why there were no birth defects. God allowed it to be this way, but once the earth got populated, then incest became a sin and God cut off the perfect DNA that we were originally created with, thus now there are tons of birth defects and problems when a brother and sister have sex and have a baby.

Apparenty Cain when cast out from the land of Eden, was sent to the land of Nod, said to be everything that was not Eden. It is not stated exactly how many children Adam and Eve had at the time Caine killed Abel, so when he was cast out there were humans and descendants of Adam and Eve in Nod. Scriptures if they are correct state that the their life spans were tremendous, so the possibilty of them having many many children and their children having children and grandchildren, by the time Caine was cast out to Nod he met basically distant family that had wandered out of eden on their own accord and he was said to have married and had children and built the first modern stationary city ever rather than being nomadic wanderers.
This would be a an answer given from a Religious perspective.
From a non religious, Adam and Eve may have been more advanced evolutionary than the rest of the human species that lived on the planet, neanderthal cro magnan. When Caine was exiled from his home he met probably a tribe of near humans and married one of these woman helping them step up in the evolutionary chain. This of course is all just hypothetical.
( On a last note, to John V, Jesus was a Jew you bonehead!!! )
To you others who would say wrotten things, What makes the new testament any more credible or less than the old? No I am not Jewish but Jesus was!!! Get your facts straight before reaming this person out, they had a legit question so try to be a little more caring if you are so Christian and not so fast to point out error numerically, it is very UnReligious to belittle anothers faith and beleifs.

The Bible does not specifically say who Cain’s wife was. The only possible answer was that Cain's wife was his sister or niece or great-niece, etc. The Bible does not say how old Cain was when he killed Abel (Genesis 4:8). Since they were both farmers, they were likely both full-grown adults, possibly with families of their own. Adam and Eve had surely had more children than just Cain and Abel at the time Abel was killed - they definitely had many more children later (Genesis 5:4). The fact that Cain was scared for his own life after he killed Abel (Genesis 4:14) indicates that there were likely many other children and perhaps even grandchildren or great-grandchildren of Adam and Eve at that time. Cain's wife (Genesis 4:17) was a daughter or granddaughter of Adam and Eve.
Since Adam and Eve were the first (and only) human beings, their children would have no other choice than to intermarry. God did not forbid inter-family marriage until much later when there was enough people that intermarriage was not necessary (Leviticus 18:6-18). The reason that incest often results in genetic abnormalities in children is that when two people of similar genetics (i.e. a brother and sister) have children – genetic defects are far more likely to result because both parents had the same defects themselves. When people from different families have children – it is highly unlikely that both parents will have the same genetic defects. The human genetic code has become increasingly “polluted” over the centuries as genetic defects are multiplied, amplified, and passed down from generation to generation. Adam and Eve did not have any genetic defects, so that enabled them and the first few generations of their descendants to have a far greater quality of health than we do now. Adam and Eve’s children had few, if any, genetic defects. As a result, it was safe for them to intermarry. It may seem strange or even disgusting to think of Cain's wife being his sister. In the beginning, since God started with one man and one woman, the second generation would have no choice but to intermarry amongst themselves

correction! God Said Adam was the FIRST man and Eve was taken and created from one of Adam's ribs and She became the FIRST woman.
Since Cain arrived in Nod and apparently found a wife and KNEW her and they had a son Enoch, THERE WERE OTHER PEOPLE!
Also note that Cain said He would be afraid everyone who saw him would know what he had done and want to kill him , so God put a mark on him so all that seen it would be warned not to harm him.
We are not told who "ALL" the other people God and Cain were talking about but then it must not of been that important or God would of went into more detail.
WE DO KNOW THAT NO SINFUL ACTS WERE DONE BETWEEN EVE AND HER SONS OR ADAM AND HIS DAUGHTERS OR BROTHERS WITH THEIR SISTERS. We know this because God would not of allowed that. Genesis 5:4

The Bible does NOT say "in the beginning there is a man and woman". -- your error #1
The Bible DOES say "In the beginning, God".
Adam and Eve were driven from the Garden. -- your error #2
It was after that when Cain slew (killed) Abel.
Cain then was banished from his home.
His wife?
In those early days it was not considered as "incest"; only later when God declared that it was "incest" that it was wrong.
The Bible names Adam & Eve's three sons: Cain, Abel, and Seth.
The early chapters of the Book of Genesis also says that Adam had "sons and daughters".
Do try READING the Book.
Also, the Jewish Historian, Flavius Josephus, says Adam and Eve had 33 sons and 23 daughters.
----------------------------------------------------
As for the "loopholes", etc. in the Bible ... it just is that not everythiing was told in intricate detail; rather, just enough that people CAN know what they need to know. Now, if everything were recorded in precise details, then probably it would have been like some laws passed by governments ... maybe 327,482 pages written so that only a "Philadelphia lawyer" would have had a chance of understanding it. But then most of the average people would not have been able to; and would not have been willing to read and search THAT MANY pages.

Adam and Eve had several sons and daughters besides Cain, Abel, and Seth. After Cain killed his brother Abel, God placed a mark on Abel's forehead, and sent him away, stating that who ever killed him would be punished 7 times more. The Bible does not mention who Abel married, but it was one of his relatives. The phrase Son's of God and Daughters of men does not come into the scriptures until the time of I think Abraham. Although I may be wrong. The sexual relationship with a relative was not considered a sin until Moses was given the 10 commandments when he was on the Mount of Sinai talking to God.
It was after this time that it was considered to be wrong.

Anyone of those bible bashers who are too caught up to realize that Adam was man, not necessarily the only man, and later from the same dirt as man was created was his first mate,Lilith. There were many creatures of many kinds, including angels that lived on this earth. If you study near eastern theology, Christianity is a continuation of Judaism, which has its beginnings with Zoroastrianism. Read the Epic of Gilgamesh. Then check out its relation to Sumerian/Assyrian/Babylonian texts.

What's up with all the Bible-bashers? Anyway Adam and Eve had lots of children in the hundreds of years they lived so Cain probably married one of his sisters or nieces. Their genes were near perfection so having mentally retarded kids was not a problem for them.
