Talking out loud isn't my strong suit either, but I can offer a couple of suggestions:

1)Your problem might actually be with your teeth. I quite literally had to learn how to talk again after my mouth got messed up badly (long story).
2)Have you tried speech therapy?

Hmm- make that three suggestions: If you can't afford a speech therapist, buy a tape recorder and practice talking into that, then listenning and keep repeating phrases with a lot of s sounds in it. You should eventually get the sounds you want.

Good luck!

You should consult with your Physician or Student Health Services on campus. You did not present enough information to give you any other suggestion other than that.

You should allow for the attending Physician to evaluate the sound(s) e.g. stammering or studdering or tongue tie. Nevertheless, if this has been going on all of your life, or ever if it haven't, A decision to perform surgery should be made after consultation with an otolaryngologist (ENT) specialist or plastic surgeon.

Hope this answers your question!

It is a true problem that I never knew existed until I met my ex-husband. Now my kids had/have it. My doctor told me it could be the piece of skin under the tongue that prevents words pronounced properly. They also said that they can go to speech therapy that could help them pronounce better. Talk to your doctor to see if it is the skin or see if you can get speech therapy. I know how hard it is for you. My youngest son gets frustrated when we can't understand him.

no you don't have tongue defect just because you can't pronounce the letter "s" correctly . not very many people have the ability to pronounce it your not alone but if you want to fix that practice everyday by saying "ssssssss" trust me it works but if don't do it correct that's your problem.
your welcome
