Stop talking!
You can permanently damage your vocal chords if you add the stress of talking when your voice is hoarse. Even whispering can be harmful.

Get your throat checked out by a doctor; you may need antibiotics.

Try rubbing Vics vapor rub on your throat, then put a warm towel, over your throat. Go to sleep like that and it should be better by morning. Drink hot tea with lemon and honey also.

Gargle salt water a 3 times a day. This usually helps. Lemon herb cough drops help too.

Lukewarm water with LOTS of salt. Gargle for as long as you can, but DON"T swallow!! If you gargle with this salt solution several times a day for the next day or two you should feel better. The catch is to start doing it as soon as you get symptoms! Feel better!

Keep a bottle of water witih you the entire day and sip on it frequently. To add a little extra something, squeeze a bit of lemon into the water.

if you have strep or larangitis you may need a antibotic. otherwise just a post nasal sore throat try resting it as much as possible when you do talk talk softly. gargle salt water, drink warm tea's

If it is a cold. take zink. drink lots of juice. I have had lots of colds and have lost my voice many times. :( You just have to stop talking. whisper. only talk if you have to. other wise get used to doing lots of whispering. In about 2 days your voice should come back fine.
