No. However, they should die within about 6-12 hours without a human host. In a few days, all the nits should have hatched and died.

No. Nits (eggs and pupa) won't freeze. Go to a drugstore and get some lice medication, wash your bedclothes in really hot water with detergent. Get new pillows. Vacuum well. Clean up. Every place your head has touched can be infected with lice and nits.

You can do that and they will die. You can also keep all humans out of that area for a day and they will die. You do, however, need to treat whoever has the head lice. Nits are the eggs and they need to be combed out of your hair with a special comb. Or you could have a head shaving party. Make sure you clean everything else that the carrier has touched.

gee could u get more varying answers? i heard - and i know u can't do it with a bed - but anything that has contact with the lice, that you cannot wash, you need to put in a plastic bag tightly sealed for a few months - - good luck!!

No. You need to buy this treatment, I believe its called Nix. They also make a spray for your furniture and carpets. As for bedding you should wash them in very hot water.

Spray them good with Raid first. Let them air out good before bringing them inside. You could also spray the rooms good, close the doors and let the Raid dissipate.

Not sure about the bed itself but things like sheets that are dryer safe, run them through the dryer.. death by heat.

um, yeah...but they'll die w/in 24 hours ANYWAY w/o a human bloodsource...don't sleep in your bed for a night or so
