That link has a list of all the infantry units. If you scroll down to almost the bottom of the page it will be on the left side of the screen. You're best bet would be to contact the Batallion Commander of which ever unit you choose and explain to him your proposal. If you ever need a mortarman to consult for a script I'll be here haha. Also, as you've read in other answers, make sure to ask to speak to a scout sniper. Preferably thier platoon sargeant.

First of all, the Marine Corps has no special forces, that's the Army. The Marine's have scout snipers, the Air Force has Special Operations, and the Navy has Navy SEALS. I personally know an AF SO sniper, but she doesn't do interviews. I don't think you understand the life of a sniper. They're the real death dealers. They actually take a close look at everyone they kill right before they squeeze the trigger. If you do find someone to go along with the interview, you'd better present it in a noteworthy light. Because there's a lot of honor to be stepped on there. Hooah!

What's so special about a sniper? If you want to glimps how poorly a sniper's duty translates to film, go with a guy coyote calling. Then sit there for hours looking for a coyote coming and watch the guy hit it at 800 yards (if you can see it). There was a few B movies involving snipers.

Now what you want is the Medal of Honor winners in Iraq including one guy taking up machine gunning saving his buddies. The guy died (but so did John Wayne's character in Iwo Jima), but there is a lot of death and destruction involved.

Hey, Aaron, Marines DO have special forces. One's called Recon which is equivalent to SEALS.Try looking it up. In response to the question, I know a marine sniper but he's an *** and I wouldn't subject anyone to him.

Contact a Camp Commandant at your nearest military base and he might outline something for you. You may have to make an appointment. There's a lot of stuff in print. Do a thorough search on the net. Make it clear to the man what you're doing and of course within due discretion of parameters.
