Can Xanax cause tacycardia?
I was put on Toprol for tacycardia, they also gave me xanax for panic attacks. I wasnt taking the Xnax too much at first. It took about 2 weeks on the toprol before I started seeing my HR at a good rate. Now I have been taking more Xanax and am experiencing fast heart rate again. Can the Xanax cause this?

Actually, Xanax can slow your heart rate. I would assume the tachycardia is due more to the nature of panic attacks than the medicine to stop them. If this keeps up, see your doctor. Your Xanax dose may need increased.

It depends on what other meds you are taking but the chance of the xanax making your heart beat fast is slim to none cause remember the xanax is to calm you down and it will also do the same for your heart and the heart rate, and one of the most important things is too take the meds as prescribed and not to abuse them. good luck Hope my answer will help you

It may increase your heart rate but it can't cause Tachycardia. Check the side effects on your prescription.
