No, just make sure you keep up with the maintenance on it. It could last you another 100,000 trouble free miles.
Replace the timing belt to give you peace of mind.
Change oil and filter every 3000 miles
change air filter every 20000 miles
change the transmission filter and fluid every 30000 miles
You should be fine by making sure these are performed at the required mileage. Hope this helps

Well your doing good for it to be running great at 115,000. The major issue the neons have is in the higher miles they are prone to blowing head gaskets. If yours is running fine now just make sure you change the oil often and keep up on the maintenance and if you dont have a problem with the head gasket it could last much much longer. Very possible to get 200,000 miles or more. Hope that helps. Good Luck!!

I own a first generation (1995) Neon that is red as well. Like everyone else has been saying just do normal maint. Oil, spark plugs, and all that. If that head gasket stays you will be going for some time. Mine is 400 miles away from 161,000 and I see no trouble with it hitting the 200,000 mark.

I've got an '02 with thirty-something thousand miles on it (bought it with about 6K miles on it) and it's been great. It's been very dependable and all I've had to do to it in the 4-1/2 yrs I've had it is change the oil, a new battery, and new tires.
It's not my dream car but goodness knows I can't complain about it's performance...

I don't hear many bad things about these cars...like the others said...change the oil and look after it and it should last a long time...I'm driving a 1/2 ton that has close to 500,000 K on it...gas engine too. Keep that oil changed...that's the biggest key.

A well maintained car can go a long way I would'nt be worried about the miles. someone told me they called them neons because you bump your "knee-on" the dash ....lol
I wonder if red cars get pulled over more ; )
