Ok Bushy has lots of money invested in oil , dont you think he has made tremendous amounts of dough since we evaded? Think about it if this war ended right now he would not be making $ if this was over,,he dont have nothing to lose , he's going out next election so why not make all you can off the deaths and US poor suckers for his own wealth..Think about that ...when you go to fill your gas tanks!!At our expense and lives.

no no no never say that until the job is done ask any soldger you'll hear the same thing
and we arent in iraq because of 9/11 were in afganistan for that
were in iraq because of the threat of nuklear weapons wich altho werent there we were still going by the best evidence we had and its better safe than sorry and im speaking for all countries, and because sadam husein was a dictator. but we mostly shouldent pull out because they dont have a stable goverment yet and thats the only reson why theres a rumor about a civil war it is because there will be one iff we pull out too soon
i personally think we should stay because i know allot of people that have been over there and they think its the right thing and we have accomplished alot. like for instance there where alot of people that havent even seen a TV or even went to the doctor until we arrived. we as practically one of the strongest nations of the world should help the weaker ones get back on their feet. think if you were living over their and the Taliban was taking your family and forcing them into service and if you refused you would die. why do you think people immigrate to America.......because even if they are treated like crap over here its still alot better than over their.
although i know some of it is over oil we are still helping people over their and its hard to listen to the media anyway because alot of it is from people that hand their camera over to any citizen and if they bring their camera back to them the cameraman will give them some money and make up stories for all the pictures.

This is the thing about the war in Iraq. Most people who aren't in the military and who haven't actually been to Iraq assume that we can go over there and leave whenever we want. That isn't the case. This war has devestated the country of Iraq. Since we caused it, it is now our responsibilty to police up the damage that we caused. Don't expect all of our troops to come home anytime with thin the next couple of years. I believe that we will be there for quite some time and there will always be a US Presence there...just like Germany, Korea, and other places like that. SO how will the war in Iraq last...technically the war is over...it's the stabilizing of a country on the brink of civil war that will take the longest. So, I wouldn't bet on it before 2010.

We have not devastated the country like one poster said. We have created a minor miracle developing an infrastructure of roads and hospitals and schools and basic utilities. The news media won't tell you about that. There is no civil war, the vast majority of the country is perfectly safe and free of violence. The loss of life of American soldiers is tragic, but if we don't have the willingness to stand up to thug countries like Iraq was, then that speaks volumes about our character as a people. We will stay until we can reasonably leave behind a stable government.

Yes, in spite of the civil war the US helped to start.
If the foreign troups withdraw, people can concentrate on the real issues.
But I do not think this is likely. Military bases are being built as I write, and the oil is still there, and can't be left to the Iraqis, after all that trouble.
This civil war was caused and started by the US and their allies, and they are going to use it to the full to excuse their continued presence. Once the oil is gone they'll be out in a jiffy, whatever the situation they leave behind.

I think a time table is a good idea, but goals should be met or else the time table get pushed back a month(i.e. if 3% of the iraq amry is ready to go by january then we move the date up a month otherwise it doesn't change. I think it is the only way for the US to look like we won't give up if you kill enough people per month, but still be able to get out. I think a civil war/dictatorship is probably inevitable.

For the downfall of a dictatorship that killed thousands of it's own. For the sake of establishing a country that can run itself without being torn apart by extremists. For the fact that these are the same sons-a-bitches that knocked on our door in 2001. If we withdraw now, the deaths of all my brothers and sisters that didn't make it back across the pond will be in vain, and I will not let that happen. Neither will anyone else in the armed forces. Remember, this is still volunteer force. No one "made" any of us do this, we all chose too. Day by day we wish the rest of the country would just keep their opinions to themselves and let us do what we do and protect America on this ground instead of our own. Fight them here or fight them there, your choice. I may not agree with a word you say, but I'd fight to the death for your right to say it.

We cannot leave Iraq now because the country is in total chaos and we need to establish order and a democratic government that is fully capable of running the country. Some one once said that with freedom comes sacrifice, and I know it is awful that are troops are dying, but we have to keep fighting and hopefully we will be abl to pull out of Iraq real soon.
