Whenever I try to use Windows media player to play a dvd it gives me an error message saying that "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card." I went online to download the updates but none of them helped, although i do remember one of the updates told me to restart but I never did, so that migh have been the one. I have windows media player 11.

Get VLC Media Player; it can play anything and it's completely free.

2 things,

1) Restart!
2) Did you remember to license the DVD's for authenticity with the copyright holder? There is copyright protection built in to most DVD player software now, and each MP3 or DVD must be licensed to use it. Also, you cannot back up the licenses anymore, so if you have copied it, you must use the original media disk to play it if the license becomes corrupted to re license it.

open media player
go to
tools tab
options
and read through each tab carefully.
There may be something there to correct the problem.

if you never re-authured it , and removed the copyright when you copied it , thats your problem , but i can't tell you how to do that ,because it is illegal to do , if you get caught, its a huge fine ,plus federal prison time now
