I just got a new computer. I am unable to Download the Adobe Flash Player r any Active X Programs..Can anyone help? There are no boxes that pop up for download or any yellow box at the top of the screen. I have even tried holding doen the Control key.. But that doesnt work. I am thinking there is some security setting or somthing that I dont know about help please

Sounds like the problem I was having. Try this.

The main problem is that you need to reset security settings back to the defaults.

1. Do an uninstall of adobe flash player.
2. reset your security setting as described by support.microsoft, go to the link below run the program that does it for you.

from start, click, run.. and this command:
secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose,

3. Do one more install and it should work. adobe forum thread with the solution is below. Worked for me. Let me know if you continue to have problems.

For more info on this, read the adobe forum link (Flash Player Installation issue - Error 1904) attached. Get a geek friend to help you through this. Make sure you can always restore to an earlier point in time, assuming you have WinXP. Good luck.

If you are using Internet Explorer, it probably has popup blocker enable by default. From the toolbar select Tools, Pop-Up Blocker and choose Turn off. Don't forget to turn it back on when you're done.
