Hotels with exterior corridors or doors that open directly to the outside, are dying. However, there still seems to be certain groups who prefer them. What types of travelers still have a preference for them and why?

I have stayed mostly in interior corridor hotels since I am female and it is a lot safer. You are more likely to be victimized in a hotel with exterior corridors because there is less security around windows and doors especially near the back of a property where you are away from lights, traffic, etc. So, who would possibly prefer exterior? I can think of only a few groups of travelers:

-old school/retro enthusiasts since it is definitely like the old days on route 66, etc.
-cheaters since you might not want the desk clerk to see who you are bringing into your room especially if it is an obvious hooker.
-criminals for the reasons I mention in the first paragraph.

I hope that helps!
