Unfortunately you can't remove them without cutting them off. I can give you a trick to try to get some of them off without taking length.
Take a small section of your hair and twist it at the end so it's twisted as you hold it out firmly. Next, take your thumb and first finger of the hand not holding the hair and run it up the first 2 inches of the end of your hair. You will see split ends sticking out from the twisted hair. You can then take a small, sharp pair of scissors and trims the ones sticking out. You can have a friend do this as well, it might be easier for her to see anyways.
I am also guessing you have a fine texture of hair, perhaps blonde or light brown. Use a mild shampoo and a moisturinzing conditioner. Treat your hair once a week to a conditioning treatment that is high in protein, that will add strength.
Avoid curling irons and hot rollers as much as possible, they really take a toll on your hair if you use them every day.
Hang in there. Having longer hair can be a challenge.

Hairstylist on the premises, everybody relax.
Your hair is split for a couple of reasons, abusive styling techniques, improper use of/ cheap products, overprocessing from chemicals, overexposure to water, wind, sun etc. It sounds like when you do get it cut you are not getting all of the splits cut off and the problem is only aggravated by the reasons I gave before. You could even have microscopic tears in the hair shaft that cause reoccuring splits. Either way, you need the help of a pro. At home care can only get you so far. Better cut+ better care+ better products= one healthy head of hair.

gariner frustuis long and strong system.
it helps your hair to grow and be strong!!
and then use a deep contioner at least 1 time per week.
for growing hairout, cut 1/3 off every 3months.[after getting all splits off]

These are the best ways to keep split ends away.
If you are cutting it yourself maybe your scissors are dull. You need to use sharp scissors! Don't brush your hair when wet and limit blow-drying, curling irons, straighteners...anything hot. Use a shampoo to repair split ends. The shampoo can't really repair them but will make them much less noticeable.

i had tons of ":split ends" this year!! my friend ( a boy) got mad at me and cut my hair! i had just gotten all the split ends out a day earlier because i got a haircut. The best thing you can do is get the bottom of yer hair trimmed and start fresh. dont brush yer hair hardly either. it will pull out strings of hair and cause split ends

Cut your hair and then take care of it afterward. If you don't take care of your hair after you cut it then you'll just get your original problem, invest in a good deep conditioner and make sure to use heat protecting product before styling your hair to minimize breakage. Don't use to many harsh products and give your hair a break from products and blow drying whenever possible

try now to not straighten your hair as a lot. I straighten my hair each day, and that i also use a warmth protectant, yet i'm getting chop up ends a lot too. I put in a lot of conditioner and go away it in for 10 minutes interior the bathe, rinse off with cool water, run a comb with the help of my hair, and put in go away in conditioner. try putting more advantageous warmth protectant spray on the ends of your hair. also, look on Google for some kinds of hair mask you could make at residing house with elementary elements. wish I helped! good luck:)

I used to have very bad split ends and my hair was chin length. I had it cut very short and then started deep conditioning treatments every two weeks now its chin length again and there are NO split ends.
