No not at all - if its work thats causing your stress surely you're only looking after your own interests in trying to get out of that environment. ANd if you have a certificate from your GP to that effect the company cant say a thing - its up to you what you in your time off sick xx

No. It's not legal. If you're claiming that you're too sick to work because of stress and then you go for an interview - one of the most stressful things you can do - you're pretty much making a mockery of things.

don't know about legal but if your on the sick you are not fit for work ...I have friend who is of work due to stress and hypertension which usually goes hand in hand if you get the meaning and there is no pressure to get her back to work....at the moment your job centre plus should be running in conjunction with the NHS a condition management programme which helps you control your stress etc etc its totally confidential doesn't cost anything doesn't effect your benefits etc etc ask to go on it ....the nhs are tied in with codes of conduct ...but just asking takes the pressure of and the counsellors are brill so I'm told ....they do exercises progs aroma therapy etc etc etc its cool so next time they send you for an interview say no ...(they even do assertive ness program ) and can I do this instead.......

I think that if your so unhappy with your job that your on the sick for stress then you must look elsewhere so that you can try and find workj that makes you happy and fulfilled. I dont think its illegal but some might view it as morally wrong.... i dont we have to look afterselves otherwise we burn out and then we are no use to nobody...we only live once.. make it count
