When a guy says he would love you if he was single what does it mean?
i was dating a guy for a while we both were very physically attracted to one another and things broke up as i was upset about my job etc a little needy at the time...he always stares at me when we are out and the other day i apoligised to him and he said i was one of the most lovely people he had met and that initially he was intimidated by my job ( i have quite a high powered job and earn good money) he also said he thought i was gorgeous back then and still does, i said i was leaving and he kept on grabbing me and said he would love me...if he was single..When i chatted about one of my ex boyfriends he got jealous and said 'what about us?'. He has only just started to date someone else..i have always been infatuated with him and vice versa..what should i do should i ask him for a drink as friends, i think he could of beena potential one

Did he just start dating recently or is he actually in a relationship? He needs to make up his mind on that before you can make your next move. So....

If the statement "I would love you if I was single" is the truth, then he's in a relationship but would persue something with you if he weren't. Leave it alone.

If he really has JUST STARTED DATING someone (which does not mean relationship...at least not to me), then he's free to date you too, as long as he's honest with both parties. If that happens, you just make sure he ends up with you. But you date others too, if you want, if he continues to date "her".

Gotta work the details to your advantage. If you really want this guy, find out what the real deal is between him and the other girl and go for it!!

Since this man is NOT single, the way he is acting towards you means only one thing... . he's rotten, low-down, two-timing rat, sneaking around on his wife, and my bet is you are not the only woman he's coming on to while his legitimate spouse is going about her responsible married business, keeping the home running, that he sneaks back to every night pretending he's a decent, honorable, upstanding family man. He is practising that old "commandment" of the roving husband.....If you can't be near the one you love, just love the one you are near". and if he ever breaks up with his present wife, do you really, honestly think that he would be faithful to the new one? If you do... . Pssst, I've got a bridge......... lol

He obviously wants to have an affair and is sending you that signal. You obviously got the message as it has encouraged you to consider acting on desires you wouldn't have thought feasible to act on before. You know damned well that asking him for a drink as a friend is just the opening gambit for getting a more romantic relationship underway, and that if he accepts, it means he feels the same as you do.

If he's not single, he's playing you. He cares about one thing: Getting in your pants. If he loved you, he'd want only you. Maybe his wife makes good money like you, and he doesn't. It's very possible, he doesn't want to leave the security of his wife. Tell him to take a hike! He's not worth your time.

You've already asked this question, guess you didn't like the first round of answers enough. I still think that he's probably interested in you, but apparently not enough to ditch whoever he is with. If he was man enough, and worth your time, he'd ditch the other girl before pursuing you. But maybe he is worth your time just as he is...

ask him if he wants to go for a drink but that's it. do not continue to see him until he is single and make that clear to him. he needs to be upfront and honest with the girl he is seeing. It's only fair to both of you. and you don't want to be the other woman, especially since it sounds like you really like him

The man is clearly a playa. It's just a line and not meant to convey a sincere message.
A real man displays his feelings and intent with actions, not flattery.

I'd say the definng word there is "if". So, he's not free, he doesn't love you . . . and what, you should stay available for him? Doesn't he sound like trouble to you? Can't you look for someone with a little more maturity?

Please do not fall for that. That is the worst line ever. It's obvious he really doesn't want a commitment at this time. Do not ask him out for anything. Just relax and let him go!!!
If he wanted to be with you, he would no matter how much you make or where you worked !!!!
