Will anyone take a female seriously in Nascar, or will they think that they are all using sex, like Erin Crocker to have a ride?

Dew, you misunderstand my question. I am not talking about using "sex appeal", like Danica Patrick . I am talking about Erin having sex with her team owner Ray Evernham in order to be promoted in racing. That is a very bad example for teenage girls.

She is a marginal driver, at best. But I don't imagine he will fire her, do you? She will either tear up valuable equipment every week or give up her career if she stays with him. It is going to be even more difficult for drivers and fans to take her seriously. So to answer your question, yes, she has done damage to serious female racers. The female who gets taken seriously is going to be one who 1) can drive (and win); 2) gets a ride because she can drive; 3) respects the other drivers and earns their respect.
(Angelle Sampey and Melanie Troxell have done it in NHRA, but the closest that NASCAR is going to get any time soon will be if Danica comes over.--okay so she hasn't won yet, but she is a better driver than Erin Crocker!)

Just a quick note, as nothing I state will matter anyway. As for you couch drivers who only watch the race on Sunday because you have nothing better to do, Erin Crocker got her ride with Evernham Motorsports because of what she has been able to accomplish in World of Outlaws. She is the only woman ever to Qualify for the Knoxville Nationals, and win a WoO feature event. Just a reminder to the lot of you, as for the other drivers that came from the sprint car world it took them a minimum of two years to get to the big show.
Other Female drivers in NASCAR? The only reason why you haven't seen more, is the same mentality I've been reading here, they are driving because of relations with the owner, or women don't belong in motorsports. I can guarantee you that these women who race at a local race track or in the upper levels can drive much better than the lot of you.

She has done a lot of damge people will always be like with other feamale drivers huh did she do like that Erin Crocker to get her drive.

I personally think that she should have gone on to another team already. Its causing nothing but a huge mess for her whole team. Look what it did to Jeremy Mayfield. NASCAR should have stepped in and separated it before it got this far. She has diffenently not put a good name out there for female drivers in the world of racing.

personally, i've always been a "prove your worthiness" rather it comes to males or females, and to me, erin crocker has definitley not proven herself yet.
i hate the idea of woman racing just b/c they are woman.. you can't tell me that ray evernham was unable to find a more capable driver for that truck.. seriously!

I have seen her drive well with bad equipment and I think given the right cars she could compete as well as many other women could I am sure. So no she has not hurt anything in fact if Barbie would hang their name on the side of the car she would probably sell almost as many tee shirts as JR. And in this day and age winning is great but making a TON of money kinda makes you a winner also!!1

IMO, she hasn't proven that she can race. She is either wrecking or getting into wrecks and her relationship with Ray Evernham sure as heck isn't helping her any!

why would you think Erin is using her sex appeal to get further in racing? Is she not the one who drives the car around the track? All Women do not have to use there sex appeal to get a Great paying job or climb the later.Us women do have brains you so know that right? We can do just as much if not more than you do.
I think she is a great influence on young teenage girls!!

I don't even think they should let female drivers into racing. Girls can't outdrive the men. It's just to dangerous tfor the females.
