First off, if your doctor told you you have both depression and biopolar disorder, you might want to find a new doctor. Bipolar depression is characterized by periods of depression and also periods of mania (bipolar I) or hypomania (bipolar II). Unipolar depression (usually just called depression) is characterized by prolonged periods of depression in someone without a history of mania. Therefore the diagnoses are mutually exclusive (you've either had manic/hypomanic episodes, or you haven't), so if your doctor diagnosed you with both unipolar and bipolar depression he clearly doesn't know the basic diagnostic criteria for either one.

Depression does NOT make you a threat to others. Appart from that, I'm not entirely clear on what you're asking. But overall, my advice would be talk to your doctor. Or if your doctor diagnosed both depression and bipolar disorder, find a different doctor, and talk to the new doctor about it.

Being a Christian should have nothing to do with it.I'm a Christian and I'm a older woman.I have this to say.If someone punches me then all bets are off. That changes everything. The lord did not say let people hurt u.You defend yourself and if that means punching them back then u do it. Also if u are depressed u need to get to a doctor that specializes in depression and mood orders. Remember this that the lord gave men the knowledge to take care of people with depression. So take advantage of it and go see a doctor.Good luck

Hunny what you clarify isn't bipolar, you do no longer clarify any style of mania that's what bipolar is. Bipolar isn't switching moods from happy to unhappy. Its having such deep melancholy such as you journey yet for weeks or months then switching into mania that's while the guy feels so happy and euphoric they think of they are invincible and can do notwithstanding the hell they choose, they have limitless quantities of power that they could run a marathon, they go nights devoid of sleep or basically get 2 hours a night, they have a extreme sexpersistent and could sleep with all people besides as spending vast quantities of money they do no longer even have. They get racing innovations and discover it troublesome to maintain nonetheless for even a 2d. lower back this could final for weeks or months till the melancholy comes lower back lower back. you do no longer clarify any of this, you basically clarify melancholy which shows you're depressed no longer bipolar. The temper swings you journey is what they call teenage hormones and are primary yet for you its a lot worse as you have the melancholy on appropriate of them. you may communicate with a psychiatrist so which you will get help with this significant melancholy you have. Knock the bipolar on the pinnacle, you have not got that. Get to the emergency room and clarify to them the way you sense, of the suicidal innovations and self harm and that they gets you the provide help to choose. stable luck candy.

Who has told you you are all these things? are you on medication? The fact that people are taking advantage of you is because you allow them to. Insomnia often occurs when you are depressed, and dealing with daily issues is difficult. Depression doesn't make you a threat to others but it can. People with bi-polar illness often become violent.... I know I'm bp. Is there something troubling you? If you are religious maybe talking to your pastor might help. but see a Dr about diagnosing your depression TOO many people think they are bi-polar simply because they are happy one day and sad the next... there's much more to it.

Clint, you are a Christian not a wimp. You have to find a Christian counselor that will help you use the faith you have to deal with the issues in your life. If you are a new believer, you are under the attack of the devil and you will need the help / prayers of other stronger believers. And I don't believe that Christians cannot fight back. Look at all the soldiers fighting in the war it is their job to fight back, iff someone attacked you you are supposed to fight back. Read your bile you will see that on numerous occasions God used war/ violence as a means to an end. If you read the Word more you would find the strength to fight. Praying for your strength.

I don't see anywhere in the bible where it says "Thou shalt be a doormat". If someone hits you, defend yourself. As far as the other stuff, you'll need to see a doc. Depression and insomnia goes together along with anxiety. A doc can help.

I'm a Christian and i'll tell you what. I wont "turn my cheek" they are going to get there butt whooped. Ever hear of Davey and Goliath? Little Davey killed him. If you are a Christian and have all these probs i would say you better hit your knees and get a little closer to Jesus. He will help you.
