definately. life is transient, people come and then they go, blown in and then away as if leaves on the wind. only a stone laments when the leaves are blown away...other leaves just blow away to some other place...but, seriously, without the poetry i can tell you, that according to me i'd say just go with it and then you'll experience a whole lot more that just sitting around waiting for permanency to come when permanency is a dream of a transient man

If you think it is not going to last, then don't make the effort if you think you will be upset if it doesn't last. If you think that making the effort might change things and that it might then last you'll kick yourself if you don't make the effort. Not all friendships last forever, but some do - and those are the ones where both parties put in the effort.

Kind of. Just don't pour too much time and effort into it. If it has no chance of lasting, don't even bother. But, if there's like above a 50-50 chance that it will work out, then try.

No its not you should be friends with that person when you need them for something but if you don't feel that comfortable with that person that you shouldn't try to be close friends with that person. Good friendships come naturally you shouldn't try especially when you know its not going to last.

You never really know if they will or will not last until u try it. I mean in the end u could wind up having a great friend or u couldnt, it depends.
