Gotama Buddha spent the first week looking at the tree where he meditated. Why?To repay his gratitude to the tree for providing him shelter.
So,if I were to become a Buddha, the first thing to do is to repay the gratitude to all that help me in the path to enlightenment.

I think Buddhism is a philosophy, like a way of life, but I know naff all about it really. I did not know you could 'become' a Buddha.

If I chose this philosophy I would probably sit down right where I was at the time and think Karmic thoughts spreading the feeling of contentment and completeness as far as I could. If anyone asked me the way to enlightenment, I would tell them that the only path they can follow is their own.

There would be no priorities. You would speak the path to those who wanted to listen and walk the path as it came along.
