Why do you attack my beliefs? Most christians do not attack atheists (at least here on Yahoo), however, the religion forums are filled with bible bashing, God attacking people who continually attempt to test my faith?

i think most atheists who do that do it because they have been thumped by bible thumpers before or perhaps its because they want you to stop believeing in fables and open your eyes to science. i know i have had frustrations regarding this and i generally dont go around telling people they are wrong. but on the same hand, i don't want to hear it either. i don't go door to door telling people to NOT believe in God. My opin is if it makes you do better in life - power to ya - but dont try to convert me cause it aint happenin !

Okay, take a look at the list of questions at any random time. Check out how many of them say something like, "Fellow Christians, can you explain 2 Samuel 20 to me?" compared to "Atheists: how can you say we all just appeared by chance?" I suppose you don't even think that's attacking people, do you?

I keep coming around to the argument that this forum is full of whiney Christians like you who are desperate to be oppressed and persecuted even though you live in a nice home with a PC and everyone in your street thinks the same way as you do, which is that these are the end of days and atheists are all fools. And there are none of them in foxholes. Just break off those blinkers, stop victimizing yourself, and realize that someone who is DEFENDING their beliefs to you is not ATTACKING you. If your faith is being tested by people like that, your faith is perhaps pretty rotten to begin with.

Obviously, you are new here. Hang out for a few...grab a beer, prop your feet up. The Christians slam anyone who isn't a Christian, the Muslims attack the Christians, and a few atheists go after, you guessed it, the Christians. The Buddhists, Hindus, Wiccans, Pagans, etc, don't attack anyone, but they take their hits all the same. This is a war zone and everyone's caught up in the middle of it. Enjoy the fun.

***I just checked your q&a...you aren't new here. If that's the case then you already know the answer to this question. By asking, you're just stirring things up. That makes you a troll. We've got plenty of them here too.

What are you worried about, son? Isn't your faith _supposed_ to be tested?

BTW, if you truly believe that God is God, then you must also believe that it's literally impossible for anyone to "attack" him/her/it. So that part of your question makes no sense.

Finally: If "most" Christians don't attack atheists -- and if you stick around here for awhile, you may want to revise that opinion -- it's probably because they're busy attacking each other. Seriously. Just wait 'til you see the things they have to say about who's not a "true Christian," some of 'em will make your hair stand on end.

Not all atheists attack religion, but all do argue against it. There are different reasons for different atheists, but it is basically because atheism and Christianity are two very opposite beliefs. For me, I think that some people do not like the idea of being held accountable for what they have done bad, but that is not the reason for everyone. God Bless.

Have a nice day :-)

You know what, I don't know that I believe in God (So, I'm Agnostic, not really Atheist). I might at some point in time question you, however you will never have me attack you. Unless you are being unfair or judge mental of someone else. That is the only kind of Christian (or person for that matter) that I cannot stand. You don't attack someone for their lifestyle or beliefs, and I won't attack you, deal? I respect you, you respect me. Works rather nicely, I think!

As long as Christianity, as well as several of the other "ultimate truths", have as their end and gleefully sought after goal, the END OF THE WORLD, and as long as they believe that their rights are being violated if they are denied the opportunity to use the coercive power of the state to shove their god down every ones throat, you will have to put up with us being in your face. Why should we abandon a forum where we can let you know that you will not be allowed to carry out the silly "End Times" rubbish that you seem to forget would include the rest of us.

Because Christians are attacking them and other religions in other spheres.

See the desire to have the secular government only acknowledge marriage as defined by their religion. (Screw the other older religions that accept gay marriage, they don't count for some reason.)

With regards to athiests in foxholes, that's a witty statement that has no basis in fact.

I have faced death and possible torture if captured. That did not make me into a Christian, or cause me to request the aid of their God.

*roll eyes*

Poor you.

One of the religious groups that have done awful things in the past and present to those that are not them... Suck it up, others have dealt with worse. I mean, eesh, no one is burning you at the stake over it.

I'll consider more what you are saying when I see Christians entirely stop attacking other people as we have had happen to us (non Christians in general) for centuries.
