Is there an alternative?

Most insurance do not cover braces but you should ask your dental office if they have other alternatives for payment. They should carry some kind of financial plan you can apply for and you can make low monthly payments and pay the office with the plan. There is CareCredit and many offices take this plan for payment or maybe the office accepts monthly payments from you while doing your braces each month. Ask them what they carry and this will help get your treatment and they can get paid too.

Try to find a dentist who works with E-Z Pay dental. They will stretch out payments over a year.

Most insurance companies won't pay for braces, as bad as that sucks. E-Z Pay is great, though, and all you need is an active checking account and the ability to pay 20% up front.

See if your dentist participates in this plan.

Beware of discount dental plans. They are NOT insurance and as such are unregulated by the state. If you share your personal information, there are no guarentees your information will not be compromised. Very few orthodontists are willing to discount their fees by 25 to 50% just to get patients in the door - the good offices don't need to!

Most offices who offer orthodontics take payments, because the treatement is not done all at once like a filling or crown.

Check for general dentists who have experience with braces or Invisalign. Cost at a general dentist is usually far less than with a specialist and many do an excellent job.

There are other programs to look into.

I use a company that is not insurance and they have saved me hundreds of dollars. It's health benefits not insurance. My family coudn't afford dental insurance.

You need to be careful in looking into any health benefits that somone offers you. There are companys that do not save you any money.

The company I am talking about has been in business for 14 yrs and members of the BBB.

Braces cost around $5000 dollars.
With the dental benefits company I am talking about will only cost you $2,250.00 dollars for braces.

It only costs $11.95 for an individual and $19.95 for a entire household.

Beware and the guy above was right..you have to be careful.
They have over 1.5 million members and as I said before they have said me money as well.
