I have to discribe religion as a sword.. ex. Religion is like a sword, in which the blade represents the truth as the handle is the scriptures that you hold forcefully.
Does anyone have some good ideas for me to go with?
Thanks for helping!

A sword can be used for a variety of purposes.
1. Defense
2. Offense
3. As the metal for "plow shares"
4. As a symbol of Strength
5. As a medical instrument to remove a festered boil.
6. As an imlement to commit suicide - In the Bible it was called "to fall on your sword".
7. But mainly, the Bible alludes to a sword as something that can penetrate, penetrate whatever is the subject matter of the Bible Verse.
But always remember, when reading scriptures:
Scriptures are scriptures.
Harmony is harmony.
Disharmony is the only sin against God.

15 How powerful is the message emanating from God’s Word? It has tremendous power. Fittingly, Paul wrote: “The word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of joints and their marrow, and is able to discern thoughts and intentions of the heart.”—Hebrews 4:12.
16 The message in God’s written Word is “sharper than any two-edged sword.” Thus, it has such tremendous penetrating power that it exceeds any human instrument or tool. The Word of God pierces the innermost parts of a person and can change him inwardly, affecting how he thinks and what he loves, making him an acceptable, godly worker. What a powerful tool!
17 The Word of God exposes what a person really is at his core as compared with what he thinks he is or what he allows others to see. (1Â Samuel 16:7) Even a wicked person can sometimes shroud his inner self with a covering of benevolence or piety. Evil ones put up false fronts for wicked reasons. Proud people masquerade with mock humility while yearning to hear the applause of men. By laying bare what is really in the heart, however, God’s Word can powerfully move a humble individual to strip off the old personality and “put on the new personality which was created according to God’s will in true righteousness and loyalty.” (Ephesians 4:22-24) The teachings of God’s Word can also transform the timid of heart into bold Witnesses of Jehovah and zealous Kingdom proclaimers.—Jeremiah 1:6-9.

Religion is not a sword. The Bible is a sword. It is the word of God that cut into the depths of a man's heart. This happens when man finally understands that he is a sinful being and needs to believe in the gospel of Jesus as the only way for salvation.

The Sword of Truth is seen as a double edged weapon. It strikes out in "every direction."
The scripture, or law, is used that you can "divide" the sheep from the goats, or "kill" the "enemy" or "satan" in each person. For, the scripture holds moral truths that lead to the unity of man. Those who do not belong to the truth do not belong to God. Also, each law is impossible to uphold, therefore, each man can be broken by the Divine Law therein, and thus share in the Lord's Heavenly Banquets.

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.- Hebrews 4:12

Yep, sounds nice. A sword tempered by men and cooled down in the blood of the enemies of the tribe.
The longer you use it, the more blunt and rusty it gets. And if you use it long enough, you can see it falling apart and rotting.
